My wish for you is every good thing

Hello, how are you? Today I am playing with a new stamp which I received as a birthday gift from a friend - MFT Fairy Best Friend Stamp. It is a lovely set with little fairies and flowers, and the most lovely sentiment. As they are small I immediately thought of using them on artist trading coins, as I make a lot of coins to swap.

If anyone is new to the coins, I thought I would write the details on how to make them, or at least how I make them!

Artist trading coins are always a 2.5 inch circle. You can choose what to cut it from, a lot of people recycle  food packaging which is a wonderful idea. I usually like to watercolour mine so I cut them from watercolour  paper. I am hopeless at keeping the backs clean so I use regular card to cut another circle to go on the back.

On the back of the stamps you write your name, date, the title of your coin and the number of how many you have made. If you made 3 you would write 1 of 3, 2 of 3 etc. There are several stamps available which are made especially to stamp on the back of coins, but you can easily write all the information  yourself.

I began by water colouring a background, but of course you could use any medium. I love the sentiment “My Wish For You Is Every Good Thing” I stamped and then embossed it.

I then stamped some of the flowers from the set around the edges of the coin, and used glitter gelly pens to colour them.

After stamping and water colouring, I fussy cut the cute fairies, not forgetting to add magical glitter their wings. I adhered them to the coins using  3D sticky pads. You can use any theme to create your coins, the possibilities are endless.

They are now all ready for me to swap, I have made some inchies using this stamp set too.

I hope these little details have been helpful to anyone new to making coins.
Thank you so much for visiitng. Take care and stay safe xx

In Memory of Raymond Briggs

I don’t think anyone could imagine Christmas without The Snowman, he is an intrinsic part of Christmas. Raymond Briggs gave the world The Snowman, Snowdog, The Bear, Fungus the Bogey Man, When the Wind Blows, and Ethel and Ernest. We are all so grateful for his talent and imagination.

I have made these two tags in his memory.

Thank you for visiting, take care it is very hot here at the moment xx

Mini book Soul Whispers

I recently took part in a Facebook swap to create a mini book which would fit into the palm of your hand. I don’t think I’ve ever made a book that tiny before! I used water colour paper for the cover and, pages and also scraps of patterned paper for pages.

I die cut some hearts to make into balloons.

A little pocket holds a mini tag

I used one of my bubble backgrounds for a page

All of my images were stamped and watercoloured.

I included a little pocket in the centre pages to hold a little surprise

There are lots of fun swaps and challenges on Facebook.

My pages were 5cm x5 cm

The recipient of my little book thankfully loved it, and the one I received in return was just brilliant too.

The final page.

Thank you for visiting and have a lovely day xx

Hello I hope you are doing well. I have always loved the Classic Pooh stories written by A.A.Milne, and wonderfully illustrated by E.H Shepard. So I am thrilled to be creating with these gorgeous Classic  Pooh stamps.

Alice Day 2022

Hello, I hope all is ok with you today. It is July already, and in the UK the first Saturday of July is always Alice day when fans of Alice celebrate. In July 1862 Lewis Carol was boating on a lake with Alice Liddel and her sisters when he told them a story, which of course became Alice in Wonderland.

I began by watercolouring a background, and while that was drying I started a lot of fussy cutting of little Alice characters from one of the gorgeous Graphic 45 Alice papers. I scribbled  some quick toadstools on some copy paper and coloured them before adhering to the page. My little Alice characters then jumped on to the page. There were some disagreements about who wanted to go where  but they soon all agreed and settled down

I stamped the quotation, “ How long is forever, sometimes just one second”  which is one of my favourites.

Playing Poohsticks

Hello how are you? Isn’t this sunny weather just lovely. A perfect day to play Poohsticks ! As everyone knows I love Classic Pooh so I am thrilled to be sharing this Poohsticks card today. I watercoloured the image, and even managed to use up some of my pile of patterned  papers as a mount. A light green organza ribbon tie around in a bow added the finishing touch.

Last time I mentioned we were going to attempt  to make the new Jubilee pudding. So I thought I would post a picture of the result. It was delicious.

Thank you so much for visiting, let’s hope this sunny weather continues for the rest of the summer.

Happy Jubilee !

We are having a four day celebration for the Queens Platinum Jubilee here in the UK. Six years ago I made this Papercraft cake for the Queens 90th birthday, so I thought I would update it for this years Jubilee.

I stamped new flags and Coldstream Guards, and added the Jubilee 70th logo, also adding  a more recent photo of our beloved Queen.

We have our bunting and balloons up, and are looking forward to all of the celebrations. We are going to try and make the Jubilee Pudding, you can see the recipe here. It looks stunning, not sure that ours will look exactly the same 🤣

I wish everyone a very Happy Jubilee celebration.

Jubilee Ready

Hello I hope you are doing well, and are looking forward to the upcoming Jubilee celebrations.

This little lady is very excited for the Queens Platinum Jubilee, and is all ready with her Union Jack in hand.

I delved into my craft cupboard to search for the Union Jack stencil for the background, and eventually found it! I overlayed it onto one of my bubble backgrounds which I made a few years ago.  The post with details about how I created it is here

The little lady is a stamp by Tracy Easson, I added  a little crown, which she loved. I used my favourite water colours and some sparkle pens to give her some colour, and  then fussy cut her.  I was very careful not to snip her as she would have not been very happy! I used foam pads to adhere her over the stencilled flag.I stamped another flag and made a little stick for it so she can eagerly wave it back and forth in delight. I finished by stamping “Queen of Hearts” on some card and adhering with foam pads.

Classic Pooh Birthday Card

Hello how are you today? I haven’t been crafting for a while as I’ve had two unexpected operations this year. I have a biopsy next week, and I hope that will be it for a while. Today I am sharing a Classic Pooh card. I love E.H.Shepards original drawings in the Pooh books and these stamps have been inspired by his wonderful art work.

I water coloured the map and used a uni pin fine line pen to add detail. The map is based on Ashdown Forest where all of  the Pooh stories were set.  I also water coloured and fussy cut Pooh, and added some glossy accents to his beloved honey flowing out of  the honey pot which he is lovingly clinging on to.I also managed to use up some of my large pile of pretty patterned papers as a mount 😁

I will finish with this photo taken in the Ashdown Forest some years ago, I am looking towards Gills Lap known as “The Enchanted Place “ in the Pooh books.

Thank you so much for visiting, wishing you sunny & happy days xx

Hope for 2022

Wishing you a happy and healthy 2022, let’s hope it is a much better year! So many of us with autoimmune illnesses, and are disabled, have been staying home for such a long time now. So
hopefully  it will be the last year of this dreadful pandemic

A new year means a new yearly little scrapbook, so I have made this cover for it. Everything was water coloured as usual, and the 2022 was die cut.

Thank you for visiting, and fingers crossed for the new year. Stay safe xx

Merry Christmas

I sincerely hope everyone can stay safe, but things are not looking too good are they.

I always make a December Daily journal each year. I won’t have very much to put in it again this year, but we are doing our best to hold on to the Christmas Spirit.

I started by making a little bag to hold my journal, my mother taught me how to use a sewing machine last year, but I am pretty hopeless at it! My excuse is I cannot feel my foot so I don’t know when I’m pressing the pedal !

For my journal I used a small book binding kit I received as a blog prize quite a few years ago. I had not made this type of journal before. You use thread to stitch  the pages in. I also cut down my old Christmas papers which I’ve had for years, so it was a bit of a mismatch. But I have so many scrapbook papers I really need to use them up.

Our Christmas tree this year.

I wish you the happiest Christmas it is possible to have , stay safe xx

Christmas Eve

Hello, how are you? I hope you are enjoying the festive season so far. I have finished making all of my Christmas cards, and today I have written and stamped them all! A task and a half!  I have lots of cards to share, and today I’ve chosen a card that I’ve Called “Christmas Eve” as it features Father Christmas, and his reindeer. I decided this reindeer is Ruldolph. so I have of course given him a red nose. I used watercolours, Sprinklets, white pen, and lashings of glitter. I also used some old Christmas scrapbook paper to make an extra special envelope for the card. I am on a mission to use up my mounds of patterned paper 😁

I made a larger size of the card too.

Thank you for visiitng today, and please stay safe xx

A Wagon full of Stars

I hope all is well with you.Today I am sharing another Christmas card.  I know some crafters make them all year round which is such a good idea.I usually make them a month or so before. I used lots of paper piecing on this Christmas card, as it is a good  way for me to use up all the little scraps of patterned paper, which I  am guilty of keeping!

Thank you for visiitng, stay safe xx

Joy

Hello I hope all is ok with you. I have finally been able to post this, I have had it saved as a draft for some time.

I have made a few Christmas cards, and  as always they are all in watercolour, and my new favourite white gouache for snow. I also paper pieced the snowman’s scarf. I need to do more paper piecing, as it would help to use up some of my many pretty patterned papers.I used some of my extensive Christmas papers to make envelopes for my cards. I have also used them to make my December  Daily this year, and I have managed not to buy any of the new lovely Christmas designs!

Thank you for visiting, and please stay safe, sadly this pandemic is very far from over xx

Christmas Gift Tags

It is feeling a lot more wintery recently, so thoughts immediately turn to Christmas. I have all of my gifts sorted out already, I don’t actually have them yet but I know what I am going to buy.So that is a good start, thank goodness for online shopping! A few weeks ago I made some special tags to tie onto my gifts.  I still have a lot more Christmas cards to make, I hope to be able to make some more soon. The list gets longer and longer every year!

I cut my tags from water colour card and stamped over my water coloured background with these gorgeous silhouette images. I used white Gouache  paint for my snow, and added lots of glitter too.You  just can’t have Christmas without lots and lots of glitter, but  it does get everywhere! I finished by threading some organza ribbons onto my tags.

I decided not to buy any new Christmas wrapping paper this year as I am slightly addicted to buying gorgeous Christmas wrappings 😀 So I am determined to use up what I already have. Hopefully these tags will match the papers.

Stay safe, and thank you so much for visiting  ❤❤

Happy 95th Pooh

Today is the 95th birthday of Winnie the Pooh! I have always loved Classic Pooh, as written by A.A.Milne, and brilliantly illustrated by E.H. Shepard. The first rubber stamps I ever owned were Classic Pooh ones, the  good old fashioned wooden ones.

I have created these Classic Pooh cards to celebrate this special day. I have sent them to my fellow Classic Pooh friends. I water coloured my background, and the images. I used a lot of masking to stamp the overlapping bunch of balloons. Pooh always needs honey so of course I stamped him lots of honey jars!

Pooh and friends joined us on a recent trip to the forest, and he enjoyed sitting on his thinking log.

I made a Classic Pooh cake today, with a marzipan Pooh, and a chocolate flake covered log.

Thank you for visiting, and please stay safe, the covid numbers are high, and increasing every day xx
